The Story of Clan MacTavish Financial Statements
There has been much chatter at Clan MacTavish about the books of The Dunardry Heritage Association. Then I remembered the Treasurer’s Report for the period 1/1/0006 to 10/15/2006. Let’s see, Clan MacTavish has income of $9823.30, and expenses of $7,936.97, leaving a cash balance of $1,886.33. That works and the cash transferred to the balance sheet….
BUT WAIT
They have Liabilities on the books of $19,764.55…..humm………even with a high school bookkeeping course, you know, that you have to debit – something – and credit something. In this case they credited a Liability account – a note payable, but what did they debit???
Steven and Leslie’s Scottish costumes?? Their travel expenses??? Entertainment??? Repairs to their home – oh wait, I mean Castle???
YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT THESE EXPENSES ARE DO YOU
Clan MacTavish speaks of AICPA standards………….and keeps suggesting that the Dunardry Heritage Association subject itself to an audit………. Here is a copy of their Financials as of 10/15/06 - have you seen a set of books since??
PRETTY BOLD OF THEM CONSIDERING THAT THEY CAN NOT EVEN PRESENT A
BALANCED SET OF BOOKS TO THEIR MEMBERS
Patricia, you were acting Treasurer – you know better than this!!!
Being the kind person that I am, I had a CPA friend of mine redo the financials, and have published the corrected copies for Clan MacTavish. I urge members of Clan MacTavish International to ask for a AICPA accredited review of their books at once! Here is the corrected set of books
